The Estrada Global Foundation (EGF) is proud to announce the delivery of over half a million meals to local families in need. With ordinary families struggling to make ends meet, the EGF has expanded its services to provide assistance to families in Geneseo, Colona, Erie, Kewanee, Monmouth, and Galesburg.
Over the last year, EGF has partnered with local organizations, including the Midwest Food Bank, Defenders of Freedom, Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry, and Calvary Church, to put food in the hands of even more families in need. The meals provided by the foundation have been a source of support and comfort for many families struggling with the high cost of living.
“It’s an honor to provide meals to veterans, single moms, and families facing tough times,” said Co-Founder and President Rafael “Ray” Estrada. “I am grateful for our partners such as Defenders of Freedom and volunteers for helping us reach those in need. It is a powerful testament to the impact we can have when we come together. I am honored to be a part of such a generous and caring community.”
The Estrada Global Foundation helps local families, refugees, and displaced citizens provide for their basic needs and safety. The foundation’s mission reflects Estrada’s personal experience. When Estrada was twelve, he and his family fled to the safety of the United States from Nicaragua, barely escaping the country’s violent civil war and the brutal, incoming communist regime.
“Over four decades ago, my family and I arrived in Galesburg and because of the kindness and opportunities offered by this great nation, I was able to pursue my version of the American Dream,” said President Estrada. “I’m honored the foundation continues to provide and distribute food to those in need because the American Dream is not just about individual success, it’s about creating a better future for all. Caring for our neighbors, and ensuring others can pursue their dreams is what makes our state and country exceptional.”
The Estrada Global Foundation is a 501(c)3 public charity. It educates people about the profound dangers tyrannical government structures pose to human rights, individual liberty, and economic freedom. Estrada has been a strong advocate of Human Rights. He has testified in the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission of the U.S. Congress. In October of 2022, Estrada met with Diplomats from Venezuela and officials of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to address the migration crisis in Costa Rica, and its impact on the United States.
Locally, Rafael “Ray” Estrada served as Chief of the Knox County Sheriff’s Auxiliary Department. Mr. Estrada is a graduate of Augustana College, B.A. in Political Science with concentration in International Relations and earned an M.B.A. from North Park University, Chicago with concentration in Finance. He lives in Galesburg with his family and attends Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
